Michelle Rae Morris is a self-taught artist. Born in 1973 in Portsmouth, Virginia. Michelle took to art as soon as she was able to hold a crayon. Throughout her childhood, Michelle developed an appreciation for her majestic surroundings. She would often sit for hours with pencils and paper, or experiment with clay whenever the opportunity arouse itself. Years of artistic expression made it clear that Michelle's life would be centered upon her passion for art. After high school, Michelle discovered that sculpting to be extremely relaxing and her favorite form of expression through art. Painting and drawing are still some of her favorite past-times. Her artistic styles are unique and cast an impression on the viewer.

        Michelle is now a professional artist full-time. She is also on the South Carolina Arts Commission " Artist in Residency" Roster, as a teaching artist. She teaches classes currently at Black Creek Arts Council, in Hartsville South Carolina.

        Michelle lives in Hartsville, South Carolina with her husband and Best Friend of 16 years Danny, two Children, Justin,14 and Olivia, 8 and their rat-terrier Quincy. In Michelle's home, Art is a large part of their lives. They do a lot of art projects and have fun bringing the whole family into art. Michelle's family recently took guardianship of Danny's brother, Scotty which is special needs, and he enjoys doing projects with them also.
